May 25. The Resting Place.
I lost interest in this one….. I lost the mood I was going for and well…. just grew bored of it. Maybe I will go back to it and add detail. I like painting that sort of stuff like the engravings on gravestones…..
May 15. The Owl is Not What It Seems.
I feel like this is a good color comp for something better. I like the composition and colors. I just need to sit there and finish it.
I feel like all my pieces are medium environment shots… I’m gonna try and change it up tomorrow.
May 12. The Caldera Disaster.
Ahhh. This is a painting that could have benefited from some editing and better design choices on my part. I guess I must have been looking at lava photos and though to myself to add what I thought was cool about each photo into my painting. Lava water falls? Hell yeah let’s add those. Lava flares? Hell yeah lets add that! Tall pointy rock pillars? Hell yeah lets add those everywhere! With all these cool things everywhere how can my image go wrong? Haha. But I actually have an idea for a simpler better lava composition, so that will probably be a paint later this week.
I’ll do better tomorrow…. but sometimes you gotta fail to succeed. Have to get those bad paintings out of your system
May 12. The Conversation.
A quick paint, because I’m a little on the sick side. Inspired by Penny Dreadful which I started watching that the other day… It has beautiful sets.
A cropped and non cropped version. I can’t decided which I like better. I’m leaning toward the cropped one because the full version doesn’t really add anything but room scale. But scale is important, so I don’t know……
May 10. Eh Aspen.
I was trying to experiment with colors and the result is: I don’t much care for this one… but I love the mouse dude. I did him in the last few frantic minutes. So I will probably do more with the mouse or mice.
May 6. Sunken Stargate
Based of the sunken bunker in France and the Gateway of the Sun at Tiwanaku.
I am going to finish this… At some point… With cool glyph designs that isn’t just a rushed line tool.
Trying to do a new environment a day.
May fix this one up, but it’s really just a sketch of some rocks. I had to change the colors midway through…. because pink and purple really didn’t look appropriate.
